This page is dedicated to our use of Thoughtful Logs in Literacy.
Thoughtful Logs are 5-subject notebooks our students use to record thoughts, ideas, and learning worth remembering in reading and writing. The goal of the thoughtful log is to give students a place to organize their thinking and write or record their learning.
The Thoughtful Log is used everyday during our Literacy (Reading Workshop) and Writing Workshop Block. Each student has their own Thoughtful Log and each has been divided into five sections to help organize thinking. Each section has been tabbed with a specific focus area:
My Strategies
My Thoughts
Genre Study
Author's Craft
Powerful Words and Phrases
