First Three Days

Our first three days together have been wonderful!  We are slowly getting to know each other, learning what fourth grade is all about.  The students have been so enthusiastic!  They all seem so excited to be in fourth grade.  You can tell they are glad to be one of the "bigger, older" students in the building!

Today we listened to Mr. Geiger speak during our Back to School Assembly!  We reviewed what it means to "Live About the Line", met new Luther teachers and staff, and were great listeners during a story about differences.  After the assembly we went back to the classroom to talk more about "Living Above the Line".  To "Live Above the Line" means to "Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful".  Over the next three days we will take each value and come up with rules that explains how can follow each value in our classroom and school.  It is important we do this together because our opinions and thoughts are valuable in our classroom.  If we make our classroom rules together, we believe we will do a better job of following them.  On Friday we will come up with consequences we feel are fair to us if we are not able to make the choice to "Live Above the Line".  Look for Mrs. Bouvier to share our values, rules, and consequences with parents once we have finished our discussion.

Finally, in exciting news we have name our new furry friend, the guinea pig, Gismo!  On Friday groups worked together to come up with great names for our friend and after a class vote, Gismo was voted to be the best name.  Today Gismo went to the vet where he received a clean bill of heath!  Here are a few photos of Gismo!

Happy Blogging!
